Orton Gillingham Methodologies Pre K - Adult

Direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia. 

Wilson Just Words,4th grade - Adult

All students in grades 4-12 and adults who are decoding and encoding below grade level.

  • Foundational and language standards that are absolutely necessary to be able to access grade-level text. 

  • Phoneme segmentation skills for up to six sounds in a syllable, with application for decoding and spelling.

Wilson Intensive Reading2nd grade - Adult

All students in grades 2-12 and adults who are not making sufficient progress in intervention or who may require more intensive instruction due to a language-based learning disability/dyslexia.

  • As a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles, WRS directly and systematically teaches the structure of the English language. Through the program, students learn fluent decoding and encoding skills to the level of mastery

  • 1. What is the meaning of the word?

  • 2. How is it built?

  • 3. What related words can you find? 

  • -morphological relatives- words that share a base

  • -etymological relatives- words that share historical roots

  • 4. What graphemes function coherently here?

  • -Check that they represent the phonemes across the morphological family.

  • -Check the influence of the word origin on grapheme choice.

  • Is what you thought was a grapheme actually an orthographic marker.
